Inner City Jazz – Branding for an international jazz festival

The project is born from the force of the city and the improvised nature of jazz: rhythm, night, and memory. The bold typography, warm palette, and grainy textures evoke the analogue, the imperfect, and the human, bringing into the design the same vitality one feels at a live concert.

Within this system, the hand‑drawn posters add an expressive, personal accent. Each illustration, with its own effects, gives every concert its own chromatic identity. The collection thus becomes a set of singular pieces that, together, build a shared and recognisable narrative.

The identity unfolds across every layer of communication: from large‑format graphic pieces to the details of collectible merchandising, as well as the festival’s digital presence on social media. Everything is articulated as a single visual universe that adapts to different formats without losing coherence or character.

Inner City Jazz seeks for jazz not only to be heard, but also to be seen, remembered, and lived in the city. A project where music transcends the stage and becomes a graphic experience.
